Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Allison Model 7 speakers- The model 7 and CD 7 are essentially the same product from what I understand with the Model 7 appearing a year or two earlier. This is a 2 way small floor standing speaker/column in real walnut veneer with the familiar top firing 8 inch mid woofer and the Allison tweeter mounted on the face of the cabinet. The both midwoofers were refoamed recently and all drivers are in operating condition. The grills are especially nice on this pair. Both midwoofer grills are excellent with no cracks or splits. One tweeter grill has several small splits on the inside edge where the grill meets the cabinet edge; not noticeable until the grill is removed. The other tweeter grill is perfect. The speakers function as they should. There is some separation of the veneer only along the edges of the cabinets where the veneer appears to have pulled away perhaps due to age. The speaker cabinets themselves appear and sound tight; there are no gaps or separations in the cabinets. There is no buzzing or unusual resonances coming from the cabs themselves. I have replaced a missing foot on the bottom of one speaker with a very close match. Most recently I used these as surrounds in my home theater. But previously used them in my office. At one time or another they have been set up in almost every room in my house. A very flexible design because they sound great no matter what room you put them in. Individual weight packed is approximately 25lbs ea. The speakers weigh 22lbs ea. Combined weight will be approx. 50lbs so plan accordingly. The plastic grills are very fragile and I may opt to ship them separately at no additional charge to the buyer. Local Pickup is welcomed!
