Hello once again Carver fans and those of you who may have followed my Carver auctions in the past. Up for auction we have one used,but near mint condition SD/A-490t Vacuum Tube Reference Compact Disc Player.This is the single disc model and not the changer(I sold that one a few years ago)It is in great working order,the only exception being it needs a new belt for the CD drawer which I am including in this auction.Along with the remote(batteries not included)and owners manual. Cosmetically the unit is in excellent shape.The sole exception being a couple of very small nicks below the CD drawer that were caused by me trying to get the drawer to open with a screwdriver once when I accidentally closed the drawer with no CD in it. For those of you who don't already know-with these units when they need a new drawer belt.YOU MUST KEEP A CD IN THE DRAWER WHEN YOU CLOSE IT OR IT WILL NOT EASILY REOPEN!!!!!!!!!!!I purchased the belt and discovered the transport mechanism must be disassembled in order to replace it.So I will leave that to the new owner/a qualified technician. Otherwise the unit plays just fine. I am leaving a CD in the drawer for the new owner,so that it will open for him/her. It still has the same tubes it it that were there when I purchased this unit several years ago right here on eBay.I believe they are the originals.Since they are biased to run at about a third of their capacity,they are supposed to last as long as the laser.Since this unit was in my bedroom stereo and not used much,it should have many good years left on it. I am selling it simply because I have a DVD/SACD combi player and simply have no use for it any longer.
