Up for auction is the highly acclaimed NAD C542 single CD player in almost new condition. I purchased this player new in 2005 for a friend along with the matching NAD Receiver and DVD player. He ended up hardly ever using it because he used the DVD player for CD playback. I gave him a hard time because the C542 sounds 10X (at least) better than the NAD DVD player and the DACs in the NAD receiver, but he wanted more room in his audio rack. He ended up moving it to his bedroom where it may have been used a couple of hours a month at the most. He took the system out of the bedroom last month and traded this to me for a Blu-ray player. It's pretty much new in all respects. It looks perfect and performs as new. I've been listening to it for a few hours the past couple of weeks and I have found it to be flawless. I played some badly scratched CDs and some CD-Rs that most players have a problem with. This player didn't stumble once! It's error correction is excellent. It will also play CD-RWs. It sounds incredible as well. It has a 24 bit Burr-Brown DAC, Toroidal Transformer, Premium OP-AMPs and components throughout. The HDCD decoding is fantastic as well. I find it a very close 2nd to the Rotel RCD-1072 I have here on ebay as well. That says a lot since the Rotel retailed for $200.00 more! If you read the forums, it seems the Rotel and NAD are the most compared to each other and the results are about 50-50. It has coaxial and optical digital outputs, as well as all the standard CD features such as random, programming, repeat, etc. Comes with the remote and manual. The original box was used to ship something else (by the wife!), but it will be double boxed for safe shipping. All items will be shipped using FED EX unless otherwise specified.
