Lyra Helikon cartridge (New) Picture(s) and Description:

This Helikon is unused. I took it into stock in 2004 when I was a hi-fi dealer in England (as Cherry Records), before I retired and moved to Canada. I don't know if my distributors at the time (Symmetry) would honour a warranty after five years but I've never heard of a cartridge such as this failing. I played just one side with it to confirm it's OK and it's fine. Just needs 50 hours running in. (My Titan took 80 to really bed in). Why wait nearly five years before selling? Pure inertia plus too much to do on this old property! Also, I brought so many hi-fi items from England that most of them have been sitting in boxes in the basement waiting for me to get round to them. Serious buyers will do their own research about the Helikon - find out, for instance, if any significant changes have taken place since I took this one into stock, so I'll leave that to you rather than answering easily available specification stuff. What I can tell you is that the current Retail price for a new one is $2,780 so I imagine someone is going to get a bargain. Regarding postage, Ebay want sellers to fill in all those details when I'd rather agree what form of postage to use with the buyer. I like being able to track items. Xpress Post International is needed for that to such places as Japan and Brazil and Europe - at a cost for this item of between $65-70 whereas within Canada the cheapest trackable is just $8 in Ontario or $14 to Alberta. Surface mail is cheaper, of course, and trackable, but it takes anything up to 8 weeks. Then there's insurance, so there are details to agree with the buyer - preferably before you bid! Why no returns on this item? Because it is exactly what I say it is - not a sample to be played with.
