After 1997 when Conrad Johnson bought out McCormack, all solid state products have been concentrated on the McCormack brand. The RLD-1 was their best preamp yet by far when it was released. McCormack finally has a super high resolution preamp to go with their DNA amplifiers. This is a microprocessor-based remote-controlled preamp with the very transparent volume control design. This one sounds so right yet with a lot of that edges built-in that make the "super high-fidelity" crowd ticks. This was a dealer demo that was never sold to an end user.
