Ortofon MC10 Super Moving Coil Cartridge – (NoS) New old Stock The Ortofon MC10 Super Moving Coil cartridge is fitted with a light and rigid cantilever of special alloy and equipped with a tiny elliptical diamond stylus for low equivalent tip mass. This ensures excellent tracking, faithful reproduction and low record wear. It will track high frequency groove undulations with high accuracy. Specification of the MC10 Super is as follows · Output Voltage 0.3mV · Frequency response 10-20,000 Hz · Recmd Tracking Force 1.5g (Tracking Force Range 1.3g – 1.8g) · Weight of cartridge 7g This MC10 Super is new - I have owned it for a number of years, it was part of a bulk purchase from a closing down HiFi outlet, I have not removed it from the box before. It was probably never sold as the box is not perfect and the accessory kit, apart from the Stylus Brush is missing. After I had photographed the cartridge I carefully installed the cartridge and played two sides of an LP to check out its performance, it is superb - I always enjoy listening to Ortofon cartridges. The MC10 has a reasonably high output for a moving coil cartridge, if the budget does not allow the immediate addition of a MC transformer or similar, at least the cartridge can still be used, although of course without a step up transformer or MC Phono Stage you will not get the best from it. If you have not experienced moving coil cartridges this could be a good opportunity.
