Beautiful vintage (probablyearly 1960's) Thorens TD 124 transcription turntable with a professional Ortofon RS-212 stereo transcription tonearm. Fitted in very stylish original Thorens wood plinth. Excellent condition and working order. ***Note: The cartridge & headshell in the pictures below are not included in this auction.*** The classic Thorens TD 124 is considered y many to be one of the very best sounding turntables available - this applied back in 1957, when the TD 124 was introduced - and it is still applies today.Extremely musical in its presentation, the TD 124 uniquely combines an authoritative control with high end finesse and detail, and manages to achieve this balance with ease, something that cannot be said about very many turntables, regardless of type/price.The tonearm is the classic 1960's Ortofon RS-212 professional transcription tonearm, which is a perfect match for the TD 124. The RS-212 mates very well with a wide range of medium and low compliance cartridges (from Ortofon SPU, Denon DL-103 etc. to more modern models).
