Yamaha 7.1 Home Theater Receiver - 8 Channels 870Watts This receiver was removed from my home theater in working condition. Cosmetically, the unit is very good with age appropriate wear, but no major scratches or dings. POWERFUL HOME THEATER RECEIVER* The RX-Z1 is the most powerful and versatile receiver Yamaha has ever offered. With a total of 8 channels and 870 watts, the receiver delivers more than a horsepower of sound. Yamaha's Digital ToP-ART Technology assures the purest circuits and transmission. MULTI-ZONE/MULTI-SOURCE Ideal for custom installation applications as well as standard home theater enjoyment, the RX-Z1 provides multi-room, multi-source operation with analog A/V outputs for the second zone. In addition, the receiver delivers powered multi-zone operation. The front effects speakers can be configured to power another zone. Zone 1 and Zone 2 feature independent power control commands. POWERFUL SOUND PROCESSING* The RX-Z1 has it all - Dolby Digital EX, DTS Digital Surround, DTS 96/24, DTS-ES Discrete 6.1, DTS-ES Matrix, Neo: 6, and Dolby Pro Logic II decoding. It also incorporates Yamaha's Quad-Field Cinema DSP and Virtual Cinema DSP. In fact, it provides 41 surround programs and offers a total of 61 surround environment variations. HIGH PERFORMANCE LSIS AND OTHER CIRCUITRY* Yamaha's proprietary ASIC LSI, the 32-bit YSS-938, assures top quality audio performance, and the twin 44-bit YSS-910 DSP ASIC LSIs provide the finest quality surround processing. BURR-BROWN DACs* Ten Burr-Brown PCM-1704 DACs, with 192 kHz/24-bit processing, deliver superb digital-to-analog conversion. EXTENDED I/R CODES Yamaha's provision for extended I/R codes permits completely independent multi-zone operation. The unit also responds to extended I/R codes. BACK-PANEL RS-232C PORT A rear panel RS-232 jack provides a terminal for two-way communication between the receiver and a touch-pad controller. The port can also be used to upgrade for future audio or video formats. TOUCH PANEL REMOTE CONTROL* The RX-Z1 comes complete with Yamaha's touch panel RAV-2000-Z1 remote control. It has a large LCD screen, 2 MB flash memory, and features presets for Yamaha components and those of other manufacturers. The fully programmable remote is PC compatible via the RS-232C serial port. VERSATILE VIDEO INPUTS AND OUTPUTS* Eager to take on the most challenging home theater situation, the RX-Z1 has 8 video inputs and three video outputs. All have S-video connections in addition to standard RCA jacks. Component video inputs for DVD, DTV and CBL/SAT inputs assure the best possible video signal transmission. The front panel A/V inputs make temporary connections easy. AUDIO INPUTS AND OUTPUTS FOR EVERY NEED* The RX-Z1 has four audio-only inputs. The receiver provides 7 optical and three coaxial digital inputs including the audio portion of the A/V source inputs, plus an AC-3 RF input. A pair of digital outputs provides pure audio signals to other components. PRE-OUTS AND PRE-MAIN COUPLING Pre-main coupling for the main-front, center, and front effects channels allows for the insertion of separate amplification, if desired. The unit also provides pre-outs for all channels, including three subwoofer pre-outs. DETACHABLE POWER CORD The receiver is equipped with a detachable power cord, so it is fully compliant with national recommendations for custom installed electronics. WIDE BANDWIDTH* Wide bandwidth is essential to assure sharp video. The receiver's 100MHz component video bandwidth means that your picture will retain its clarity and snap. +12 VOLT TRIGGER The unit is equipped with a +12 volt trigger output to activate other components automatically when the receiver is turned on. I/R PORTS The RX-Z1's rear-panel I/R ports make it possible to control the receiver and other components through the receiver, from locations beyond the 30-foot range of the RAV-2000-Z1 touch-pad. VIRTUAL CINEMA DSP Provides a realistic surround multi-channel surround experience using only two speakers. SILENT CINEMA Building on technology incorporated into its world famous "silent" musical instruments, Yamaha has added HRTF and "Virtual" technology to create a realistic surround movie effect using standard, two-channel headphones. 6-CHANNEL INPUTS FOR EXTERNAL DECODER The RX-Z1's rear panel has input jacks to accommodate an external 6-channel decoder, making the receiver ready for any other 6.1 channel format, should one be developed. 96 kHz/24-BIT COMPATIBLE The RX-Z1 is compatible with the 96 kHz/24-bit format of DVD-Audio and will deliver that format in the finest way possible. ON-SCREEN DISPLAY Control and adjustment are always easy to check via the receiver's clear on-screen display messages. SPEAKER A/B SWITCHING For convenience and versatility, the receiver can switch back and forth between two sets of speakers at the touch of a button. LOW IMPEDANCE DRIVE CAPABILITY AND IMPEDANCE SWITCHING Yamaha's famed low impedance drive circuitry is included in this receiver so that it can handle virtually all loads and a wide variety of speakers. For further speaker matching, the amplifier can set for either 4- or 8-ohm speakers. LINEAR DAMPING FACTOR CIRCUIT The advantage of full range, 20 to 20,000 Hz, damping is that it improves the definition and resolution of the sound output throughout the audible frequency range. DIGITALLY REGULATED VOLUME CONTROL FOR ALL CHANNELS Precise volume adjustment and matching is made possible via Yamaha's digitally regulated volume control. Adjustments can be made by turning the knob on the receiver or through the remote RAV-2000-Z1. SOPHISTICATED, POWERFUL, AND VERSATILE REMOTE* Yamaha's RAV-2000-Z1 touch-pad provides remote control of the RX-Z1. It features a large LCD display, 2 MB of flash memory, and is preset with codes for Yamaha components as well as those of other manufacturers. Macros with as many as 255 commands each can be simply programmed into the easy-to-operate touch-pad. The unit is also PC compatible for editing commands. SLEEP TIMER Permits a delayed receiver turn off. It can be set for up to two hours in 30 minute increments. 40-STATION DIRECT ACCESS PRESET TUNING Up to 40 preset AM and FM stations can be grouped in five groups eight stations. These groupings make it easy for family members to easily access their favorite stations or to have musical genres, such as all the jazz stations, grouped together. MULTI-WAY BINDING POST SPEAKER TERMINALS Yamaha's heavy-duty binding post speaker terminals for all channels accept banana plugs, spade connectors, and a variety of speaker wire, including heavy gauge cable.
